My brother left Taiwan yesterday morning and was supposed to arrive in Atlanta this afternoon.
That was before snow stranded him, and about 1,000 other travelers, in Dublin. He couldn’t go out and see any of the country because of the weather, so he spent the day wandering around the airport, reading and texting with me and our parents. He told Ryan one woman was “leading a revolution” to get into a cushioned area blocked off by airport staff. I’m not sure how well that worked because he later sent us a text saying he was sleeping on the floor with a bunch of strangers. Time to cuddle!
His new flight is supposed to leave in about four hours or so. I hope this flight is able to leave. Between his stay in Ireland and his 10-hour layover in Paris yesterday, he has spent 36 hours in airports (and not really getting much sleep), and his entire trip home will have taken about three days. Poor guy. I know he’s ready to get home and crash.

Awe the poor guy! I spent like 4 hours in an airport all alone once and that was bad enough. I cant inmagine what 36 hours would feel like even over different times.
Hope he gets home ok. We’re actually not too far off from Dublin, so if he can’t make it home, get him to fly to the Isle of Man for a few days. At least we can offer him a warm bed!
I don’t mean to laugh, but “leading a revolution”? That was kind of funny… 🙂
I got stranded once for 8 hours, and that was horrible. I was on my way home from Paris and our plane had “electrical problems” in Charlotte. Too bad he couldn’t go see the country while he was stuck there! I’d love to see Ireland.
Hope he gets home soon! Sleeping in the airport in NOT fun. I’ve had to do it twice traveling for work. Both times in Chicago (once at O’Hare and once at Midway)At least I could get coffee and a doughnut at Midway.
Oh goodness. That is terrible.
The woes of travelers….
Reminds me of the movie Speed, where the guy says “I’ve already seen the airport.” Hope he gets home soon and safely!
That can be a pain when you are delayed due to weather. The most I have been stranded was 10 hours and that was enough. Hope he made it home safely.
